Explore All that Bixby and South Tulsa Have to Offer
When you’re searching for the perfect place to host a creative retreat, you want to get away from it all.
But you don’t always want to be away from it all.
At Stitch Creek, you're just minutes from restaurants, shops, fun festivals, concerts and sporting events. Sure, you want time to work on sewing, stamping or scrapbooking, but you might also like a nice night out — or a trip to a nearby fabric store.
Might We Suggest?
Shopping
Expect to find all the big box stores you’d like, plus Jan’s Log Cabin, a quilt store in Bixby.
Nearby, in Tulsa, you’ll find The Quilting Studio & Fabric Mercantile and Southern Comforts Quilting.
If you’re heading to the west toward Sapulpa, stop in at Quilt Styles on Water Street — and at the famous Route 66 Christmas Chute.
Restaurants
Who doesn’t love Mexican food? We highly recommend Real Taco in Bixby. If comfort food is more what you had in mind, try Stepping Stone Cafe.
Of course, what’s better than pizza or hamburgers when you’re on a retreat? Everyone in Bixby raves about Pizza Shoppe and Scott’s Hamburgers.
Sites to See
Looking for some outdoor fun? Try some of the trails at Bixhoma Lake or stop by the butterfly garden at Washington Irving Park.
Or, if you’re a fan of Frankhoma Pottery, it’s close enough to tour!
Bookstores
We’re slightly addicted to independent bookstores, so we happen to know that you can easily take Highway 75 right into downtown Tulsa and visit Magic City Books. (We’re also fans of Gardner’s Used Books, which is about 30 minutes away but worth it.)
Events
Enjoy year-round festivals and celebrations in downtown Bixby, including the BBQ and Blues Festival in May and the Green Corn Festival in June.
Find more things to do nearby in Tulsa and Jenks, home to the Oklahoma Aquarium and the Green Country Quilters Guild.
Coffee
You’ve got all the regulars — Scooters, Starbucks and Dutch Bros — within reach. Plus, we really like Copper Key in downtown Bixby.
If you venture out toward Glenpool, give Roast House a try.
Local Produce
Planning a farm-to-table meal — or just want to grab a few things? You can pick your own fruit and flowers at Joe’s Farm and shop for almost anything at Carmichael’s Produce.
